The current OP cover stories...
...make me very, very, very happy. That is all.
One Piece. We're on chapter...ye gods, 493, isn't it? And I still love it. That is something special (and insane).
If anyone is wondering what I'm doing these days, I'm just juggling two full time jobs (work and motherhood, which should count as work-and-a-half). Now, don't go thinking that Mal doesn't have any free time; Squidlet is considerate that way, and clocks off for a twelve-hour snooze after a long hard day of playing. But I've decided to take a holiday from writing, which will probably do me good. Don't worry, plot ideas are already creeping up on me...To fend them off and give my brain a break, I'm currently playing some bargain-basement PS2 games (still looking for DDS...).
. Devil May Cry 1: good play, fun scenes, great game in all but maaaaan, GET ANOTHER WRITER! 'I wanted to be the one to bring light into your dark soul! *cue two crystal tears' Ummm, yeah. I could write better scenes than that with my eyes closed and both hands tied behind my back. On the other hand, the game has a neat system that judges your playstyle after the first three rooms and suggest a gameplay level for you. Since I'm not an adolescent with a gamepad twitch reflex measured in nanoseconds and time to spare to play sixteen times until I get it Perfect, the game took one look at my gameplay and gently suggested I use 'Easy Auto Mode' from here on out. I think this probably allowed me to finish the game...
. Prince of Persia, Sands of Time: Just started it, and it's waaaay cool. Which is saying a lot, I don't like platform games normally (yeah, yeah, so why did I buy it, huh? Search me. It was $10)
Besides these wholesome activies *cough* I'm rewatching the entirey of Prince of Tennis, just to see one series where at no point in time are the characters expected to kill someone or die for their ideals. In theory. It has to be said, if you took the entire script of PoT, blacked out the references to games and tennis, and then gave said script to any average otaku, s/he'd swear it was the dialogue of some battle anime, probably involving FF8-type gunblade or something. "Oh no! What was that smash? What a terrifying blow! Will Ryoma be alright?" '*anxious thought*Ryoma-kun...' "Ryoma-sama! Beat the hell out of that guy!" "T-Tomo-chan!" "Will Ryoma be okay? He's limping! He's been injured!" "Hang on, o-chibi!" "Don't worry, he's strong." "Yes, but what can he do against such a horrible attack?! He'll be destroyed!" (Not actual dialogue, but it damn well could be...)
Oh well, it's amusing, it's relaxing, it's popcorn for the head.
Mal over and out for now.
