I...I don't know where to begin. This fic - it's just so MUCH. I adore this whole continuity, DR and Kindred and all the little side-bits. Especially some of the side-bits. I've read through it all twice now, in order, and revisited favorite pieces more on top of that. And I generally only read massive multi-parters once, just because they tend to be such an undertaking. So that's saying something.

Backing up. I've only recently discovered how much I really do love this pairing, thanks mostly to your fics (they constitute probably a good 90% of what LeeGaa I've read). I found your stuff in my KakaIru reading, see (best KakaIru I've found yet. Especially Perfect Trap. *dies* Perfect KakaIru fic, voice and characterization and all. Kudos. ^_^), and decided that since I like your style and I adore both characters and like the idea of them getting together, I'd give it a read.

And holy mother of fuck, am I ever glad I did. *_* It's just...what you do with the two of them is simply amazing. I love your characterization. You manage to make Lee 100% Pure Lee, warm and loveable and REAL without being the caricature of himself that he tends to be even in canon. That's no mean feat. You bring so much depth and reality to Gaara and his efforts to be More than he was in his younger days, and yet again he's still 100% Pure Gaara. Oh my god. Words don't do it justice, but my fannish heart swells with love for your ficverses. Er, continuities. There's oodles of heart and soul in every chapter, and the understated humor that runs underneath so much of it is just stellar. It all feels so very canon. I'm ruined for any other LeeGaa, I tell you, because the way you write them is Exactly The Way It Should Be. ^_^; *happy sigh*

I realize you're not really writing Naruto anymore, and there's a part of me that cries to know that. But at the same time, I'm so very grateful for what you've given the fandom as you passed through. Thank you. Thank you. Fic like this - this is why I'm in fandom. This. Thank you.

SO. More than three years after you started the whole thing, and I wanted you to know that YES, people are still reading it. :D

I came across someone in a forum mentioning this was the best Naruto fic they'd ever read. Curious, I googled it.

This was amazingly written--not just smexy (heh) but also believable, romantic (yes, really), hilarious every other sentence, stunningly beautiful every other sentence as well, and just...just so REAL. It's almost hard to describe. But this, this right here is something WELL worth the read.

Not only were the characters well-written, the whole thing well-written, but you really addressed some impressive themes and ideas with this fic, something that's rarely done in fandom. And thinking back, it makes so much sense that these issues be addressed when it comes to characters like Gaara. Even Lee. What is friendship? What are feelings? What is love? What is human? What makes a human? What makes us so different from each other, and what connects us all?

...Yeah. But no, really, your fanfic was beyond amazing and really made me think. Helped me with some ideas I'm struggling with for an actual novel, mind you. ^_^ Plus, I really liked the fact that this was a fanfic with yaoi in it, not a fanfic about yaoi. Know what a I mean? It's refreshing to find something like that nowadays.

Anyway. Yes. Awesome favorite for me from now on. KUDOS TO YOU, cuz you deserve it for writing this. Seriously!!!

Hey Maldoror. I'm such an enormous fan of this story. You're writing is really inspirational to me, too! Seriously, I've been obsessed with Lee for like years, and GaaLee is my favorite pairing, so this fic is like completely ideal.

So, I'm a big loser and I like this story so much that I've put it all into microsoft word and plan to print it out and put it in a binder like a book :)

This may take me QUITE a while, seeing how the entire story (side-stories and all) is 325 pages in Verdana, font size 9. Jeez, girl, you can write like crazy.

Just thought I'd praise you for a while. :) I'm eternally grateful to you for this incredible work of arttt!

Hello there.

I was considering commenting on every single chapter as I read, but I'll never be able to be sure if it's best to keep it LOOOONG AND DETAILED or nice and short.
This fic definitely deserves the special attention for every single chapter, but I wouldn't want to bombard you with endless, adoring and repetitive comments either.

But I digress. My GaaraLee loving friend had been badgering to read this fic for well over a year, possible two, claiming that this is the best GaaraLee fic on the internet.
She was right.
Everything about this story was amazing and perfect: the uncannily perfect characterization, the plot, the writing, and probably other writey matters I acknowledged subconsciously and couldn't describe with words even if I tried. I found myself spending the last week sitting in front of the computer in a trance-like state, alternating between fascination, admiration, and Complete and Total Love. Not to mention the parts [whole chapters sometimes!] where I was laughing hysterically, and if there's one thing I really appreciate, it's an awesome sense of humor.

You are an amazing, wonderful writer and I seriously plan to read everything you've written some day, if I find the time. Luckily for me, I'm also a hardcore One Piece fan and a former GW fan.

Keep up the great work. ♥

:D Thank you for the list, I read the whole thing from my phone and this made it a lot easier. ;3 Probably the wrong place to say this, but I don't feel like doing a review because I'm lazy so;
THAT WAS THE BEST STORY IN THE WORLD. Not kidding. xD It's like the GaaLee/LeeGaa BIBLE.
I could go on, but I'll save you time. ^-^ Sooooo.... THANK YOU AGAIN.

I first read DR years ago, and recently rediscovered it in my bookmarks. After spending the past few days rereading it, I just wanted to tell you how very winning your story remains, even after so much time! It was like reading a favorite book from my childhood. I'd come across a vaguely-remembered scene and exclaim to myself "Oh, I remember this one!" and dig back in with a gleeful smile on my face. It's been a long time since I've read any Naruto fic--or read or watched any Naruto, for that matter--so it's pretty telling of what an impressive grasp you had on presenting these characters and locations, so fully fleshed-out, that I was able to settle into this re-read with such ease and happy familiarity.

...Anyway. Just wanted to say: still awesome, three years later!

First, it started as a curious pencil sketch in Deviant Art.....

Upon reading the description below, it was said that the art was based on one of your fics "Diplomatic Relations"......

Following the link provided, I read through the whole story (a bit hesitant at first because it was the first time I've ever read a Naruto fanfic, much less encountering my first dose of yaoi pairing in this anime courtesy of Lee and Gaara).....

And after finishing the whole tale,I got hooked to the fandom so much and I'm so happy that your fic was the very first I've ever read!!! X3X3X3 You write your stories with so much passion and detail that I was completely drawn and could not stop until I've read all of the chapters.

Many people all over DA said that Diplomatic Relations is the "Holy Grail" of all things LeexGaara.....and I just want to drop by to say thank you for letting the beauty of this pairing shine so brightly in your stories. X3X3X3

And getting me addicted as a result. XDXDXD

I just finished rereading this story, and I just want to say that I love it as much if not more than when I first read it years ago. DR remains my favorite of all your fanfics, and that's saying a lot because I also really love your Gundam Wing era. This story was beautifully done. Thank you for writing it.

I am very slow on the uptake apparently; I just found DR a few days ago and have been gorging on your Naruto fics for the last 3 days. I nearly cried when I found out you don't write them anymore. Do you plan on ever writing more GaaraLee? You are an extremely talented writer.

It's been years since I read this for the first time, but I thought of it today and thought I would stop by to tell you that over the years, this is one of a small handful of stories that I *still* continually come back to and reread and love the bajeezus out of every time. It will always be one of my favorite pieces of fanfiction ever... out of all the fanfiction out there. Of which there is a lot. xDD

NATO takes over command of military operations in Libya
NATO is taking over command of military operations in Libya from coalition forces, world media reported Sunday.

The UN Security Council imposed the no-fly zone over Libya on March 17, along with ordering "all necessary measures" to protect civilians from Muammar Gaddafi's attacks on rebel-held towns.

The 28 NATO ambassadors met on Sunday to decide on further military plans in Libya.

The United States transfers command for a no-fly zone over Libya to NATO, while coalition forces will continue to protect civilian population from attacks by Gaddafi forces.

The military operation in Libya, codenamed Odyssey Dawn, has been conducted so far jointly by 13 states, including the United States, Britain and France.

NATO members decided on Thursday to assume responsibility for the enforcement of a no-fly zone in Libya, but could not agree on taking full command of all military operations in the country.

Meanwhile, leaders of the 27 European Union states on Thursday issued a statement saying the EU stood ready to assist in building a new Libya "in cooperation with the United Nations, the Arab League, the African Union and others."

Hi! I'm just saying to you that this is one of the best fics I've ever read :D I really like your writing style, specially your descriptions. It's amazing how, even from Lee's POV, your narrative isn't too flully or mushy (I liked that a lot!). In my opinion, your Lee and Gaara were very IC, or at least very believable. It was awesome, really :DD

I recently found myself wandering back in the Naruto fandom after a couple of years, and DR was one of the first things I wanted to revisit. It was every bit as wonderful, funny, and involving as it had been six years ago, and even with the six additional years of Naruto chapters and growing characterization, is still remarkably in-character for both our boys. However, what struck me most about reading this as an adult was the way you portrayed Gaara and Lee's relationship. I think that's what really sets your work apart from other writers across this wacky world of fandom. While it's obvious that they really love one another, you make it equally clear that they also respect each other immensely. It's still one of the sweetest, healthiest relationships I've ever seen in fiction, and that's remarkable considering Gaara is a former violent psychopath the unemotive and highly-respected leader of a warrior village and Lee is... Lee.

Though this will doubtlessly sound cheesy, DR also helped me realize what love is. Even though I found Lee's notions of grand romance understandably humorous during my first read-throughs, I went through the same things when I found somehow found myself in a relationship. In my mind, there was the subconscious thought that Love had a linear progression, influenced by years of watching movies and reading sixteen-year-old girls regurgitations of each others ideas about how a relationship happened. At the very tender age of 21, I was kissed by some weird boy who hadn't even been nobly pining after me for months. Then I was his girlfriend, we were doing weird stuff to each other without declarations or resolutions of love. I had this vague sense I was doing something wrong. However, as we got to know one another better and integrated more fully into one another's lives, I looked at him one night and realized that somewhere over the course of the two years we'd been together, I fell in love with him. Once again, this is going to sound very silly, but I found myself thinking back on DR quite often, and comparing my own gradual shift in affection to that of Gaara and Lee's. Watching the way their relationship progressed, as well as the various bits of wisdom in "Love, In Theory" really helped me accept that love isn't what we've been told it is, and that's perfectly okay. Having someone that accepts you for what you are, respects themselves enough to stand up for themselves when they've been hurt, and genuinely cares for your well-being and happiness is also pretty dang wonderful too.

So, thank you, for sharing some of the wisdom you've accumulated with your readers. The world needs more authors who aren't afraid to make a relationship grow rather than magically happen, and to show that infatuation and attraction are not enough to make one work. Though I still sometimes acutely experience Gaara's exasperation and confusion about what one is supposed to "do" with a relationship, I feel I'm becoming more adequately prepared to find the answers someday. Perhaps in another six years, I might!

Another person who just wants to say that this fic is still being appreciated this many years later :-D
I'm at the last few chapters and have been reading for this past week, as I somehow took a Naruto nostalgia trip...

Honestly, this is one of the best fanfics I've ever known. Like others mentioned, you captured so many great feelings and thoughts with your way of writing and little details. It made me thoughtful, and I ended up even understanding some things about my husband and myself, since it was inevitable to compare certain things... I don't even know what else to say. This fic is fantastic. The end.

Hey there! First off, in case I forgot to comment before, this is really one of my very favorite fics, and one of the few that I continually go back and read every once in a while, just for the pleasure of it. This fic has been a staple of mine for years. It's wonderful, and you should be very proud of what you created.

But why I'm writing now is actually on behalf of my boyfriend. You see, I've been reading this aloud to him as a way of bonding. He likes that it lets him see a bit of what I'm into. He wanted me to extend to you his appreciation of this fic; though he always grumbles a bit about it beforehand, he always really enjoys the chapters once we're in the middle of them. (We're about to start chapter 15.) I think it's interesting to him as a straight male to be exposed to media from a female perspective. He mentioned that he feels like this fic is a sort of parallel female indulgence to the very male indulgence that is the actual Naruto series. But even so, one he finds very enjoyable.

So anyway, yeah. We're both enjoying the fic a lot, including me even though I've already read it maybe half a dozen times. I know it was a long time ago now, but nevertheless, thank you for writing it.

Ok, I dont know if you read the comments here any more or not, but I just thought you should know that I read this fic when it first came out (under a different account) and loved it then and probably read it a good few times after that. Then recently I've returned to the Naruto fandom (Gaalee) and some stuff has happened, come crashing down and this fic and its partner Kindred I have read maybe 20 times in the last month and it makes me happier everytime. So thank you :)

2015. Naruto is over. I'm reading this fanfic one more time.
